Worth a thousand words

a lot of bull

Fished the lake with Eric...he tells me he will be 80 next year and we talked about life during the war and how as a young boy he was evacuated to Selkirk which he loved and how his dad (a fire man on the steam engines) saw him off at the station. Because his dad worked on the railways he travelled on holidays by train when most other families had no holiday. He started work in Brown Brothers in 1947 at the age of 15 and spent a lot of time on ships as an engineer travelling all over the world.

for the fisher...
Mostly dry day, overcast Eric got broken, had plenty of follows and finally netted a 3lb blue trout. I managed 2 for 4.25lb including a nice blue.
Eric forgot his glasses and grumbled all day about not being able to tie flies on.

Took Margeret out for her tea to the Inn. Fantastic parsnip, apple and honey soup, fish and chips and a nice bottle of red Italian.
