Playing with Dandelions
I love my macro lens but have become a little staid with its use of late. I tend to keep a low aperture and hope for the best.
B recently purchased a 7D and has been reading a whole lot about composition and the boring techy stuff about photography. I'm more of an intuitive photographer and so just kind of 'feel' what I need to do (with varying degrees of success).
After another restless night (they seem par for the course at the moment for some reason unknown to me), I felt grumpy and irritable this afternoon so I decided to take my macro lens for a walk around the garden.
Despite the fact that Pio kept trying to get into the shot, I enjoyed a happy ten minutes fiddling with this Dandelion clock.
B has told me, according to his research, that I should have a higher aperture and as much light as possible for my macro shots. So I did.
We had a play on Photoshop last night and so I have learnt to 'invert' photographs. This is my second attempt at inversion and I really like it. I might get it printed out LARGE for my living room wall.
The original and my first attempt can be found here, if you're interested.
So, tired and grumpy and not wanting to study, but very much enjoying photography and the distraction it can offer.
I think an early night might be in order (so that I can stare at the ceiling for a few extra hours - LOL).
