Emarrassed? My ...

There was so much going on in Liverpool today the city seemed so alive and vibrant.

At lunchtime I decided to take a walk up to The Oratory at the Cathedral to see Laura Belem's The Temple of a Thousand Bells which other bippers have posted on here previously. It is a wonderful installation in a wonderful space and one which I hope to visit again.

On my way I popped in to a photographic exhibition at St Luke's bombed out church which was destroyed in the war. Although not as famous as Liverpool's two cathedrals it is a well known landmark which is being put to a number of uses including an outdoor cinema. You can still see the burnt timbers.

Walking back down I decided to take a short cut through the Bluecoat and discovered by chance that BBC Radio Merseyside were broadcasting a number of programmes from there where they are recreating John and Yoko's protest. As I arrived Roger Phillips was just ending his programme and handing over to Billy Butler. Two broadcasting legends.

The gentleman in the photo above is Dr Christian Jessen, presenter of Channel 4's Embarrassing Bodies programme. (I had to Google that as I don't have a television) The premise of the programme is that people go into the back of a very large trailer and show the Doctor some horrible ailment that is troubling them while a man with a camera films and it is then broadcast to the nation. Now surely if you had something that embarrassing you wouldn't want to tell the world and if it was such a worry wouldn't you just go and consult your own Doctor?
