Looks Good To Me

Bigger Than a Breadbox?

No -- it is a breadbox,, and I think it's probably at least 50 years old. I found it in one of the drawers of a kitchen storage unit I bought from the Re Store in Bellingham, to house some of my tools.

I was familiar with the outdated saying, "Is it bigger than a breadbox", but didn't know the origin. If I'd come to the US a few years earlier than I did, I would have known that it was a catchphrase coined by Steve Allen on the American TV show What's My Line, in 1963.

Regular blip-followers will have guessed that my breadbox reappeared while I continued sorting and moving the contents of the basement today. Another decision to be made -- thrift shop, Craigslist, or metal recycling? I find the decision-making just as tiring as the physical effort in moving things. Obviously I'm a confirmed pack rat.
