049/365 - The Path to Success

Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism, said, "A journey of a thousand miles began with a single step." Now, I should mention that I'm not a proponent of Taoism, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. And in this case, Mr. Tzu stumbled his way to a whole pecan tree. A few examples...

My wife and I have started trying to exercise a few times a week, and this morning, my feet didn't want anything to do with that first step. Truthfully, though, after I got started, the workout went really well, and I think it helped me get through the day. Of course, it was also a pretty long day. It started with that first step at about 6 am, and I got home from work at around 10 pm. On an unrelated note, I've decided that I'm more a fan of the eight hour work day.

I've also started a "Through the Bible in a Year" program, where, as the name implies, you read through the entire Bible in a year. This is about the same as working out. Getting started is the hardest part, but once you do, the Bible just draws you in. I guess that the Holy Spirit speaking to you.

Anyways, even the photo a day project is similar. Some days, it's tough to start taking pictures, but if you force yourself to take the time, you are often surprised by the results. (This is not the case with today's blip...I'm going for a more philosophical vibe today.)

Well, it's time for this day to come to a close, so I hope you all have a great night, and, if you feel like listening to Mr. Tzu, take that first step in a new direction tomorrow!

God Bless!!
