The last rose of summer

Having problems getting my image uploaded tonight. I set up a makeshift "studio" to capture this beautiful rosebud. It is the very last bud on a miniature rose brought as a gift by a friend a few weeks ago. It has flowered and flowered and flowered.

I put black velvet over a dining chair back. I positioned the rose on another chair in front, then used a 100mm lens on the tripod. The lighting was an uplighter in the corner of the room. I then experimented with different apertures and shutter speeds. The danger was that I would expose overall and the black would then look grey.

Pleased with result but when I blipped it, it was archived because the camera had mysteriously gone back to Jan 1st 2000 or was it 2008. Hoping it is accepted this time.
