Carolina Blue

Weather can change almost instantaneously in this coastal region. We're just a stone's throw from the Atlantic. On shore winds, off shore wings, the gulf stream... who knows what makes it happen, but if you like daily climate change surprises, come here.

Today is typical of what happens when the sun shines brightly. The sky turns richly, intensely blue. Moisture builds up in puffy white clouds, but isn't scattered about to produce haze. Some folks call it Carolina Blue -- it's a good name, because I've seen skies all about the country, and nothing seems quite like this.

I never tire of seeing the the greens of foliage against the blue backdrop. Nature at its best.
