Merienda

Our Ministry of Tourism has made a request to different regions of the country for them to help promote the local food industry. Some of the delicacies made by our great grandmothers have started to vanish from the daily table. Recipes handed down seem to be of little interest to most of the younger ones. Today, our next door museum held a small festival they called " Tilaw Silay ' (A Taste of Silay). They featured food made from kitchens within the area and even had some of them made right at the museum grounds.
Inspite of the heat and humidity, we did get a pretty good turn-out of people. I found these two ladies taking a bit of a rest after they had their share of the merienda.
