The Happy Couple

This was what it was all about, realy. When we got the invitation to The Wedding of the Century, it was simply a matter of whether going to the wedding would be at the beginning or the end of the holiday. We thought of combining Sitges with Greece and going on there from the wedding, but the logistics were a bit daunting, and we were concerned that things in Greece would be very quiet once October came. Opting for the alternative of ending with the wedding after spending some time in France turned out to be the perfect decision, especially when our original intention of beginning in Marseille changed and beginning in Lyon instead.

Still, the wedding had been the catalyst for it all, and today was the day. It was cloudy and a bit dull to begin with, but the often-mentioned mini-climate of Sitges kicked in quickly, and it was blue sky and bright sunshine for the rest of the day. The lads had planned a paced day (as I knew all too well from my work on the printed material). We began by meeting for coffee, then went on to the actual ceremony, then a photo op up around the old church, then a Cava Reception, then the Wedding Reception, and (for us at least) finally on to a grand little bar for drinks.

It was a terrific day, and a wonderful experience to go to a wedding in a sunny climate and be able to spend the majority of the time al fresco. Tiring, but hugely enjoyable.
