Oddities

It is so difficult to pick just one picture from a day's sightseeing in a foreign country - and perhaps this isn't the best - but I just loved the character in this little cafe we happened to stumble upon.

It was my birthday and I woke up in a bit of a mood. It was pouring down outside and in my world of high expectations, that wasn't how it was meant to be! Grrr.

So we drudged about in the rain. and bless Paul, he tried to cheer me up by taking me on a little surprise adventure. But he got lost. He accidentally took us to the Botanical Gardens and the look of horror on my face was priceless. I couldn't think of anything less 'me'.

After the cock-up, I found out he was supposed to be taking me to the zoo. I had to laugh. It was such a sweet idea, as I LOVE animals - but I hate seeing them caged up - and who wants to walk around a zoo in the rain on their birthday anyway? Funny Paul!

So we went on a pub trail instead. Never fails!
