March to the beat of a different drummer

It does seem a little lazy to blip from the TV, but my excuses are a) it rained non-stop today so we hid indoors b) I've never done it before c) it was the opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games and they were just gorgeous.

I have memories of my dad trying take photos of Royal weddings from the TV and if you didn't hit the shutter and screen at the same time you got a big black stripe on your picture (a huge waste of a film too) so was impressed with the images you can now take from the screen.

This is one of the many drummers that they had in the ceremony demonstrating the range of cultures to be found in India. All a great relief that after the pre-games fuss the opening ceremony seemed to go well - lets hope it bodes well for the entire games.
