Sheaf Loaf

Harvest Festival today. Hooray! I always love the sight of massed fruit and vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the sight of this loaf of bread baked in the shape of a sheaf of corn tied round the middle. I thought I remembered being told that these are only for show, but I got close enough to smell this one, and it smelt delicious! Must have been baked this morning. I enjoyed a delightful fantasy about crunchiness and butteriness. The loaf was auctioned off and I decided to be daring enough to give it a try. But I was outbid, so I still don't know. Must be better prepared next year!
