Greek Orthodox Baptism

I was the photographer today at a Christening. It took place in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St Lukes in Glasgow.

I have to say from a photographic point of view it was excellent as they gave me complete freedom to photograph everything that was happening inside the church.

It is a very long process involving olive oil, soap, towels, changes of clothing for the baby, candles, incense etc. Its quite an ordeal to be getting immersed in the holy water three times and all the other things going on, but baby Mathew behaved impeccably throughout.

A very enjoyable afternoon.
