Princess Turret

When I was a little girl my god mother used to live in a one room bed sit - not just any old bed sit, but one with a turret! She used to have a round table in the round part of the room, the sitting room area had a sofa bed and a neat little kitchen area, then a seperate bathroom. I loved visiting and always wanted my own turret (I think the story of Rumpelstilskin was uppermost in my mind at the time).
Here is a picture of the whole house. You can't see the entrance because the bush is in the way but most of the older Bremer houses have approx. 6 steps up to the front door - this whole area was built on salt marshes, that's why.
We passed this house this afternoon because it was a lovely warm sunny autumn day here and Mum needed to get out of hospital and breathe real air for a while. First we toured the garden which we can see from her room and came across this chestnut tree which was fundraising for a childrens charity, here is more detail.
Then we found the exit to the street where there is a lovely cafe so we had cappuccino and Mum had a small piece of Joghurt Gateaux. That's when I realized we were just down the road from my god mother's first home (she married late in life so lived here for some years) so we took the wheelchair off down there before making our way back - no one had missed her, not many staff on a Sunday.
