Hagia Sophia
Chance for a bit of sightseeing in Istanbul today, with Shannon, Rachel and Kirsty, before catching my flight back to London. Handily, the main attractions are all close together - the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and Hagia Sophia, one of the Seven Wonders of the Medieval World. It's been around since 360, and was the largest cathedral in the world for a thousand years. It has also been a mosque, and is now a museum. Great for Byzantine architecture fans.
There will be more photos on Flickr soon, which show more of the scale of it and some of the mosaics - but I liked the silhouetted figures and sense of movement in this one.
