What is this fruit? Taiwan Lichee?

I cannot find any reference to this fruit labelled at Taiwan Lichee at the greengrocers today. I would love for someone to tell me what it is!

I did taste the seeds which were rather like pomegranate seeds and not that pleasant really! I am intrigued.
