A fish in the hand

Not a great photo - leaning over the side of a kayak, waving a camera randomly in the direction of a bass.

But great to catch and admire one for a few moments, and then let him (or her...) slip back into the blue. A few scales lighter, but they will shed some light on how old this particular fish is, and how good each year has been for it - just like the rings of a tree.
