New Park Opened

I didn't realize the park was going to close one hour before sunset, although since it is a preserve and is loaded with deer and other wonderful wild critters, I think that is a good idea, as it gives them time to feed without a lot of humans standing around in the way.

So, I got there after closing really, although the ranger was sweet enough to try to point out some deer she'd been enjoying as they ate at the feeder set up by the park district.

We've been waiting for what seems forever for the place to open to the public, and now that I have gotten a glimpse even for a bit, I almost hate to see us enter into it and disturb any balance it might have gained by the rest.

But...I am going to go there at sunrise tomorrow, when it opens. At least I hope so. I am counting on Daniel to poke me in the head much like this cat so that I will wake up in time to greet the dawn.
