Log Fire

With darkness falling earlier and the moon gone into recession at the moment, a night at the fire and a movie, not sure which one yet, is the programme tonight.

In the '60's I listened over and over to a record of Dave Van Ronk and loved how he could take his voice from a gruff rawness and slide it along a scale to an emotional softness, and I loved it.
I was thinking about him when I popped into Magic Medicine, (or it was called something like that and there is no time to check once you've set into motion the wheels of upload blip for fear of losing it and having to begin again) and having never been there before when I ordered soup the guy asked me my name. I am not one to give out my name willy-nilly and so I wanted to say Dave Van Ronk, but thought better of it. I had to sit at a table and then "Soup and bread for ....." was bellowed out. Next time I go in I will think up some other name.
