The swedish "Finbanker"

This is the pounder gun that is outside the restaurant where I have been working a few evenings. Jack and Erin like every other child that passes it have to climb up on it. I find it ironic, I'm sure that when this was built they never dreamt that 300 odd years later children would climb and have fun on it. There is information attached to the side that tells you about it.
The name of it is my title and it is a 6 pounder gun from the period 1680-1730 and formed part of the towns defences. After the Napoleonic wars it served as a mooring post in the harbour form which it was removed and put in it's present location in 1971.
Jack and Erin have their coats tied around their necks because this morning they were superheroes. I love the imagination they have at this age I wish we kept it, life would be a lot more fun. After this we went to the beach and had our lunch and threw pebbles in the sea, then we went blackberry picking and then after picking fallen leaves and seeds we went home and Jack and Erin made pictures of peacocks (you made to use a bit of imagination) with what we collected.
I really enjoyed today, always good when we can spend most of it outside.
