The calm before the storm

The European quarter looked a little bit like a warzone today. Just look at the amount of police and barricades!

They were awaiting the 100.000 workers from across Europe that gathered in Brussels today to protest against the budget cuts by many EU governments. The protesters feel that, since bankers are the cause of the financial crisis, they should pay the bill and not the normal workers. They also fear that the government budget cuts will only lead to another recession and more unemployment. Their slogan: "No to austerity, priority to jobs and growth".
