55th Wildlife Week

Eudynamys scolopacea

One of India's most familiar cuckoos with the well-known loudly repeated ku-oo calls. It frequents gardens, groves and open country where there are large leafy trees. It eats mainly banyan and berries, but also caterpillars and other insects. Its flight is swift and straight. The bird's habit of laying its eggs in the nests of crows and foisting on them the responsibility for raising its young is well-known from ancient times.

55th Wildlife Week to be celebrated from tomorrow onwards hosted by the Forest Department, Wildlife Wing, Govt. of Manipur.

Photo exhibition-cum-contest also to be held on two categories of Mammals and Birds as part of the Wildlife Week.

All wildlife photographers including the photographer of this 'fella' run helter-skelter for photographing, printing and submission of photos to win the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award!
