Framer's Intent...

Spontaneous Composition

That's my only explanation for this shot - everything was sitting there, and I noticed the strange mixture of decorative and junk, and the colours running through the image, so I snapped away, and boosted the saturation of the reds and greens slightly in Lightroom.

I'm having a moment of reflection - sedimenting what I've learned so far and already know, and also just being aware of how limited my photography vocabulary is. I don't mean the technical stuff, tho that's part of it. Just that there's a whole couple of hundred years or so of tradition here, techniques and movements, and I know so little about how it all hangs together. One of the great things about the internet is that places like this and flickr exist, and we can easily use them to get ideas. Hear the name of a cool photog? Just google them. But it makes it difficult to know what to respond to and how - there's just so much choice, and it isn't always clear what strands/works are more important.

It doesn't bother me much - I'll just keep shooting and learning and developing. But altho I love some of the shots I currently take, I don't think I'll feel consistently in control of my vision until I've grown some on the photog front, until I know more about the history into which I've just inserted myself. Until my photographs speak the language, even if it is to cuss violently.

I guess I'm in love with the art, and the process. And I don't just want to take pretty pictures.

Any thoughts and comments are, as usual, wholly welcomed.

UPDATE: Woo hoo, I've just pretty much sorted all my back blips. That is a nightmare to organise, if onl because the files show when I transferred them to my computer and edited them, not when they were taken. So I had a lot of futile upload something only to find it was for a day I'd already blipped moments. I'll have a look around my files and see if I have anything for the missing days. Note to self, never leave blipping until you have a week's worth of back blips to do - it is just a massive headache.
