Worth the wait.....

I've been on the lookout for this book for at least ten years. Published in 1907 it was written by Ashley P. Abraham of Keswick. Ashley Abraham and his brother George had a photography shop in Keswick, which is now occupied by the outdoor store George Fisher. This book is one of the rarest UK climbing books available and is recognised as the first climbing guide to the Isle of Skye and in particular the range of hills known as 'The Coolins' not 'Cuillins' as they are now known. The book wasn't cheap but to find one with the original map enclosed as well as being signed by the author makes it particularly desirable. My lovely wife is very understanding when I explain that it is our pension and not just "another book".

A murky day today, but an early rise did see me on the River Almond this morning where I was lucky enough to catch two nice brown trout.
