Doors Open?
Not if my first stop-off was anything to go by.....
Headed over the FRB to check-out some of the Doors Open weekend in EDI. First stop was the Granton Lighthouse to which the door was well & truly closed by good old Edinburgh Cooncil on 'health & safety' grounds. Twats! Since when was Edinburgh healthy & safe? And are we not intelligent enough ourselves to know when something is a risk or not?
Disappointed, i headed along to the Japanese House via a quick stop at Ocean Terminal to get a look at F 209 followed by Thomsons Tower designed by the great William Henry Playfair and to finish off I bolted along (via the petrol station) to the RBS at Gogar for the most surreal part of the day ever at Gogar Cabinaet Works which is housed in the remains of a pre-reformation chapel. The only building left standing after the construction of the RBS headquarters and the EDI Trams. The graveyard holds the following 'celebrities' Thomas Grainger, James MacGillivray, Robert Liston, and 'Mad Mitch'
After this it was off to the parents for some food (as I hadn't eaten since 8am and it was now 4.30pm) Watched a coupla' programs about Space & Hurricane Higgins and then set-off back to The Kingdom.
And I have a day off work to look forward to the morrie!
