Ten months on

Drove over to Cockermouth today. It`s 10 monthe since floods devastated this historic town and the after effects are still there to see.
Most of the town is open but there are still a lot of businesses still rebuilding.
One chap we spoke to said his insurance premiums had gone up to £3k, but he was going to pay because he couldn`t afford not to.
There was a `taste cumbria` food festival on this weekend, the town was packed for both days with locals and visitors. It was a superb event and great to see everyone pulling together to get the town back on it`s feet. Fantastic food and drink to be sampled and purchased.
There is a flood walk around the town with symbols on some of the buildings showing how high the flood waters reached. This plaque is outside one of the pubs, the height here was over 6 feet
The lady fishing in the river Cocker was still there when we left 4 hours later
There was live music.....what does dead music cound like....this was a local girl we sat and listened to whilst we ate fish and chips and I blipped my husband
A fab day out, wonderful people and well done to Cockermouth
