Sundial

Today's foray started with location reconnaissance for a new flat as it is likely I will have to move in the not too distant future.

As I turned a corner on the south side, I fell in behind a horsedrawn carriage. I slowed down as I passed them, and lifting my camera, I asked what the event was. "The parade for the Prophet Mohammed" was the reply, at which point I shoved my camera back in the bag and headed over to the less contentious setting of the west end!

The Kibble Palace houses the botanic gardens which provided some rarer flower pictures as autumn arrives. In the grounds were a group of people knitting and a display of telescopes from Glasgow University's Astronomical Society. I finished the day with a visit to a pub in Byres Road which had a jazz band on the go.
