Adventure!

We went out on an adventure today. The conker-hunting kind. Except we couldn't find any conker trees - I should add, we drove around trying to get 2 tired boys off to sleep and the idea was to find a carpark with a conker tree nearby so Chris and I could gather conkers while our boys slept on in the car.

We never did find a conker tree. Well, we did, but those we found looked so poorly - conker canker is obviously still around.

What we did find was an abundance of sloes!! The boys woke up after a good sleep and ended up helping us pick sloes. They loved it. Chris's little boy particularly enjoyed picking the late blackberries and eating them. We didn't pick very many, maybe about a pound. I will weight them later. I've promised to make sloe gin for her to try.

Then we played in a field, set aside as a wildflower meadow, and for general running-aboutness and enjoyment by people. No horses, no bikes, no unauthorised vehicles. And we saw a tractor! Ben was delighted! It had come to gather up all the cut grass so we watched as it baled it up and left grass bales like large square green poos all over the field. I was transfixed. I love tractors. I've never watched baling before!

Like I said. We went on an adventure. Two photographers, Christina and I, and our boys, and what cameratic equipment did we take with us?

Our phones.
