Beach finds

Not weather for furtling about on beaches today, so these are ones that live on the window sill!. Very cold, wet and windy. Definitely winter! Strange how quickly everything has changed. Not a leaf left on the bushes, all the flowers flattened and the grass very soggy underfoot.

In the town everyone was muffled up, even teenagers were wearing jumpers and coats! Out here the fields of barley have all been cut and baled. Huge round bales of straw lie in rows, waiting to be taken back to the farms. On the stubble fields the geese have moved in for the winter.

The cattle are grazing less and spending more time standing along the fence, huddled together with their backs up against the wind. The goodness has gone from the grass and it's just about stopped growing. In the next couple of weeks the cattle will be taken in for the winter, which up here means they will next see fresh grass in April!
What a thought . . . !
