Or to give him his full name, Eric Bartholemew, AKA Eric Morecambe, the comic half of Morecambe and Wise, the funniest comic duo ever seen on British TV.He took his stage name from his home town of Morecambe, where this statue was erected some years ago now, after his untimely death. The likeness is impeccable and it depicts him with his binoculars, enjoying his favourite hobby of bird watching. Today, as you can see, it stands against the backcloth of beautiful Morecambe bay sited on the promenade.
