Study in motion
I did something today that goes against all my experience taking pictures - I deliberately moved the camera while the shutter was open! I was experimenting with the different Image Stabilization functions in the camera. The IS2 setting is designed to help keep your subject in motion while blurring the background, give a sense of motion. I was sitting on my front step and tried using this process on the passing cars. I am sure people were wondering what I was doing. Initially I had some difficulty developing the rhythm to pan, focus and shoot. I liked the effect when I actually managed to keep the car in focus for the shot. I liked this capture the best ... I like how the technique separates the subject from the background. I think this is going to be a fun technique to play with!
