Ant Invasion

We have been invaded by ants! I woke up yesterday morning to something crawling up my arm. It was a single ant, but our kitchen was inundated with them. They wanted some of the old banana sitting on the counter. There was a trail of ants from under the sink to the to the fruit bowl. Quick work with a can of RAID took care of the ants spread across the countertop.

Somehow word spread throughout the ant kingdom. We have been battling various outbreaks since, in the cupboard, in the shower, in the corners of the living room. Just when we shut down one area, they turn up somewhere else. My wife was talking with another complex resident this morning and she aid ants hate bay leaves, so that is our latest tactic. We now have liquid traps, peanut butter-based bait, and bay leaves strategically placed in cupboards, in the bathroom, and throughout the living room. It seems we have taken care of the ants inside, but they are still working hard outside. They have since converged on our hummingbird feeder, but at least our home is once more secure and I can once more sleep undisturbed.
