At lunchtime I had a little explore of the area around my new office. It's mostly faceless industrial units and modern apartments (I believe there are more new/renovated apartment developments here than in any other city) but I eventually emerged into the edge of the Northern Quarter where there are still vestiges of the old industrial Manchester.

Good timing for my walk because not long after the storm clouds gathered and we were subjected to thunder, lightning and torrential rain - luckily I got to admire the forces of nature from the comfort of my office desk :)
