A game of two halves...
The Bairns were taking on Hearts in the CIS cup, it's always been a game with some amount of tension involved throughout the years. What with Hearts being the team in the SPL, and us sitting in the first, we were instant classes as the underdogs, how are a first division side going to beat one of the top trams in Scottish football? Quite easily after that performance. Within the first 20mins Falkirk had to make a substitute who instantly come on and showed what he can do by scoring the opening goal, then the opposition go down to 10men... And with a second goal just before half time it was all looking a bit too good to be true, and sure as fate they came out fighting and ended up gong 3 goals down. From 2-0 to 2-3 you'd be forgiven for running the aol side had held out and gone for the win, albeit the hard way, but a win none the less. Until the bairns thought otherwise with pretty much the last kick of the ball from a corner kick, the prospect of having to face extra time and penalties was pretty much wiped out on an instant, as the stadium erupted, fans were cheering, players were swamped, there was singing, dancing, jumping and shouting, and the stadium actually felt alive for an entire game, from start to finish!
Yes I'm suffering, yes my throat hurts, but what a game!
