Days Like That

Bowled out as soon as you go into bat
All of us have days like that
It's a big disappointment
A cause for regret
All of us have days like that

You try to be funny but your jokes just fall flat
All of us have days like that
It's a kick in the teeth
Something you'd choose to forget
All of us have days like that

You hear yourself being described as a rat
All of us have days like that
It's a moment of pain
You feel you've been struck
All of us have days like that

You'd such high hopes when you went into bat
All of us have days like that
But it all went wrong
And you were out for a duck
All of us have days like that

But sometimes you're the world's best acrobat
All of us have days like that
When you can ignore the harness
And decline the net
All of us, thank goodness, have days like that
