The News

There was a chemical spillage in a building up the road from us on Friday.  Renovation work went wrong and as a result residents of the building were told to leave. They've still not be allowed back in.  The police and fire brigade remain in place with the street taped off.

On my walk back from the buying dinner this evening I noticed a bit of hustle and bustle, the 5 o'clock news was coming live from the scene. This was the equivalent of Trevor Mcdonald standing on the street reporting live just up the road from where we live.

I quickly phoned Emma. And this is where her and I differ. I was quite excited by this, Emma however was in the middle of watching some American drama and didn't want to turn the tv channel over.

I later learned that Emma walked through the police cordon over the weekend as a quick route to get to work. Maybe she should have watched the news report to see what the long term effects are.

Interestingly this all happened in a building at one point we were possibly going to live in.
