Great Things About Living Where We Do #003

Live Music

So at 5.30 you get a phone call from the friends who on Saturday said "We're going to a gig at The Lifeboat on Monday after work, do you want to come?" to which I said "You'll need to remind me because I'll forget." & they say "We forgot to remind you." & I say "Stop Sarah leaving work & I'll be down." so ten minutes later (it would have been five minutes but I stopped on the way to have a conversation about catching bass & have to inspect said freshly caught bass which are brought out of the fridge for my perusal - you can't just go somewhere here without having at least one conversation on the way.) I meet everyone on Wharf Road and by 5.50 am enjoying the first beer of the evening (there was a long queue) and listening to my wife's hairdresser who is the lead singer and her band, who wail, and thus the evening unfolds.

There are loads of pubs in town and many of them have great live music; usually free; on this occassion for two quid into the charity bucket and the price of a couple of beers. Led Zeppelin, QOTSA, Jimmy Henderix, etc, etc, World class covers. Can't beat it.

Sadly for today the real Blip is Squiffy's, who had the photgraphic equipment to capture the right shot, and so I present to you Blip 2, which I believe to be: "Becky's daughter's gig shoes."

On the way home with a Chinese we were invited to help eat the bass mentioned above tomorrow evening.
