no ordinary sunset
i have an artist friend. we have have known each other since we were about 10 years old. he was always playing around with different mediums and found he liked paper, magazines and such... putting words together - the colors they formed, textures and designs he could create with those words.
as he grew older, he would take pictures and then transfer his perspective of those pictures to the canvas, or wood frames, in words from magazines and newspapers that he'd collected over the years. this process takes hour upon hour as he searches for just the right color, shade or word to match his interpretation of what he is trying to recreate from the original picture. his work has been noticed and hung in various galleries around the states. i am fascinated by it, think it is the coolest stuff ever and am relieved he continues to be just "one of the guys."
this sunset came from a picture taken in a marsh in wisconsin. i have brightened it a bit so you can better see the words it is comprised of and i chose not to include the framing.
