Unexpected Gift

A lady from Neustadt-an-der-Weinstraße, the "real" Elwetritsche hometown, visited me at work today and had an unexpected gift for me: a huge can of "Federweisser" or "Neuer Wein (new wine)". The yeast particles contained in Federweisser are responsible for its name, which means "white as a feather".
Because of rapid fermentation, Federweisser can not be stored for long. So I left half of it at work and took the other half home to make my sisters happy, too.

Too bad I didn't have enough time to bake a "Zwiwwelkuche (onion cake)". So I went to the store and bought some frozen "Flammkuche" (tarte flambée) to go with it. Close enough.

You can't drink too much of the Federweisser. It makes you drunk very fast and you don't notice. This one is very sweet now, like alcopops.
