Toward Island Lake

The wind was ferocious last night, though it wasn't especially cold. If it had continued today, we would have left disappointed. But the winds were calm and the sky clear and sunny. We took a short hike without packs to explore Island Lake, set in the cirque in this photo. Then we returned to Twin Lakes to spend some quality time and have lunch. We had a leisurely afternoon to rest up and appreciate the beauty of this special place. I soaked my sore feet in the cool waters of Boomerang Lake. I guess I should have made a collage to really show more, but I'm lucky to get one photo posted for the day.
