A Series in Watercolour: John Moss 4/10
Pastheap Farm, Pembury
A former farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 vintage was the subject of my grandfather's attention some 20 years ago.
I have a miniature original hanging upstairs, underneath Hans Christian Andersen's birthplace.
I remember fondly, sharing an hour in his studio with my sister as kids when we visited. Crisp new paper would be fixed to the desk with gummed tape. Fresh water would be poured into the glass jar and we'd be let loose to make a mess in watercolour.
I've dabbled with the medium on rare occasions as an adult, I think I was struck by the fluidity of the paint on page. Maybe someday, I'll find time to do more - perhaps when I'm retired.
I hope you like it!
