Walking that very cute wee creature I blipped two days ago on Mugdock Moor. Though to be fair, it's not her fault her owner is a complete klutz.....

Confrontation With a Table

Contused laceration
of pale translucent skin
Violet blue black and livid purple red
delicately lace the abrasion

In satisfyingly painful pleasure
I press my curious finger
to the swollen flesh
With perverse fascination

As mottled green
Fades to sulphur yellow
A firework of discolouration
Heralds the healing process

I contemplate this amazing
Technicolor regeneration
of muscle, fibre and sinew
to arrive at the considered opinion

That if confrontation should arise
between angular hip and table
The once living hardwood
is undoubtedly triumphant
