Tornado alert!

Tornado alert in Derbyshire ... thankfully there's no need to batten down the hatches but just an impromptu science lesson. Thanks to two large bottles filled part full of water and a cheap gadget from the toy shop, this morning I desperately tried to remember about Coriolis force, the Earth's rotation and rotational velocity. But even if my science blagging made no sense at least we made some cool tornado effects.
