The Klingon
A visit to the parentals two weeks in a row would, under normal circumstances, be above and beyond the call of duty so even though the weather was classic visiting drizzle, once we'd dragged ourselves out of our bed and had breakfast, we decided to head to the other obvious wet weather destination - Costco.
It's the wrong side of pay day for Costco but the last of the coffee beans were ground yesterday, the pasta stocks are running low and we were down to the last five tins of chopped tomatoes. So, off we went. Not an obvious photo destination although Ellen's decision to take herself off down the garden with her skirt tucked into the front of her pants was an early opportunity missed. That would have been good for today and a solid investment for the future.
In the end, all that happened was this quick shot of Ewan clinging to the trolley as I careered it round the corners, although even that fun only lasts until the trolley's been filled with shopping. That and the free samples are the only fun to be had at Costco and the sample of Frosty Jack cider was sinking a bit low. Bleurgh. Nowhere near as nice as the 2008 vintage home brew we sampled last night and certainly not close to the 2009 vintage where we even managed to give it a nice little bit secondary fermentation in the bottle. 2010 production kicks off soon. The masher, the press, the barrels and the bottles are ready. Just need the apples to fall.
Anyway, then it was home and unpacking, dividing huge packs into smaller freezer sized portions and cooking huge pots of bolognese and chilli for easy weekday meals. Roast Beef and veggies for tea!

Oh, and I should mention Ewan's own journal. He's been doing it for two weeks now. Have a peek.
