By Order of the Prophet.....

My kids are BRILLIANT at loads of things, but I will admit to failings in some areas.

5 years ago when Boy brought home the creature on the left, we weren't too astounded. Arts and Crafts were never of interest to him. I live with the image of finding him glaring at Playgroup leader as she tried to "encourage" him to colour in a picture for the local Village Gala. "Everyone else is colouring, you just have to colour a little bit". He picked up a pencil scribbled one tiny area of the picture and put it down. "I've coloured a little bit".

This creature, named Blobby Job, is a Giraffe. We recognised this from the long neck and the "jobby" coloured spots dotted around it's body. The fact that it doesn't actually stand without support from it's friend gives you some grasp of Boy's efforts at making something realistic. He based the design on "it has a long neck, it's a giraffe".

Tooli on the other hand, a fan of all things sticking on, and pasting, we really expected great things on the artistic front. When this (right handed) vision came home from school, we were astounded. What the hell was it?

I thought it was a CLanger . Wrong colour, but closely resembling one I thought.

Dad wasn't sure what it was. Boy thought it was a friend for Blobby Job.

When we found it what it was, we decided we had been lacking as parents in educating our child about the world of nature.

Do you have any idea what it was.......?

The answer will follow later! :-)
