Fresh Crop
The field behind my house is mostly left to the wilds, with the farmers cutting up whatever grasses have grown around September time and used as generic fodder - no specific crops but rather a motley collection of stumpy greens, wispy yellows, thistles, and atypical verge-of-the-road long grasses that look a little like barley but probably would never find their way to a cereal bowl near you.
The tractors spent a windy Sunday roving back and forth, leaving a trim and tidy field great for wearing the dog (and myself!) out with some extended games of fetch, as well as noticeably stubbly but enthusiastic patches sprouting back up.
