The Peacock Pub

Walked past the Peacock pub earlier today, and although it hasn't changed much in the last seventeen years since I last had a drink there, it holds little in the way of character - something that you would think a local would try to hold onto.

Used to go to the Tuesday night pub quiz with my parents and Grandad, although we never did win as a team - it was always about the fun (and to a lesser extent the night out). The last time I had a drink there was during my Grandad's wake, back in 1993... never felt any need to go back even when I was drinking (always thought it was an "old person's" pub). Nowadays it has done little to change that old stigma, perhaps this is one of the reasons it's failing...
