Jungle

At the front of our house is a flower bed, not much more than a border, about 6' x 2'. Last Summer we tried to grow some pretty flowers, but they didn't really last very long. We tried again this Spring and again the plants just died off. So I did a bit of work, and started digging up the soil. Turned out it was pretty much just the chuckies of the driveway with a bit of earth lobbed on top. So I started digging, going down to over a foot deep and separating out all the chuckies with a garden sieve (riddle) and mixing in some compost. Took absolutely ages to do, but it would appear to have been well worth the effort. Can't tame the jungle any more, but it looks great.
