Rose Haws
Another sign of autumn is when these rose haws ripen. As well as being ornamental they are especially rich in vitamin C and can be used in wine, vodka, mead, herbal tea, jam, jelly, syrup, soup, beverages, pies and bread. Rose haws are also used for colds and influenza.
These were photographed in a friend's back garden in Mill Street, Calne
