Canal Day 6 - Cleat
I don't believe it!!!
I lead a quiet, uneventful life at home but after having 3 days of other people's accidents/emergencies, I was standing on the tow-path when a paramedic came running towards me with a defibralator. "Did you call an ambulance?" "No, not us!" We had pulled up at the Bingley 5 rise behind another of lifes casualties!
A couple of hours later we were passed by a boat which pulled over to open a swingbridge and one of the guys let go of the stern rope. We said "That's going to get caught up in the......" Too late, we saw the tug as the propeller caught the rope. They increased the revs to try to stop the boat going sideways across the canal. A bad move!
So, I'm making some blippers a bit jealous of this lazy life with lovely views. It rained most of the day. There must have been a competition nationally to find the coldest, windiest spot for the seats at the top of the 5 rise where Ash and I huddled waiting for the boat to ascend!
Not a scene today, even though the evening unfolded in glorious sunshine, just the cleat from yesterday's shot with the rope around as we settled down for the night. Chippy's subject moved around a bit faster than mine!
Tonight's DVD? I will have to wake folks up to ask which one. We might give it a miss! Oh, now everyone's awake, but it's just going to be a quick Tom & Jerry.
